The pandemic narrative

Masks

* Introduction *
We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection. Public health authorities define a significant exposure to Covid-19 as face-to-face contact within 6 feet with a patient with symptomatic Covid-19 that is sustained for at least a few minutes (and some say more than 10 minutes or even 30 minutes). The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal. In many cases, the desire for widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic.

The intense propaganda to coerce you to wear a face mask is not based on science. It is a pure political power play designed to force you and your children into submission. ‘Explosive’ new research reveals that using a face mask during pregnancy may increase the chance of stillbirth, testicular dysfunction, and cognitive decline in children, Daily Mail reported. When worn for extended periods of time, facial coverings may increase the risk of mild carbon dioxide (CO2) poisoning, according to a review of 43 previously published studies on exposure to CO2, mask-wearing, and pregnancy by German researchers. Researchers in Germany found that elevated levels of carbon dioxide in pregnant women were associated with an increased risk of birth defects.

According to a new study published out of Norway, people who wore face masks were actually found to be more likely to contract COVID-19 (versus those who didn’t wear face masks). Specifically, a peer-reviewed study published in the journal Epidemiology and Infection found that those who always (or almost always) wore masks were somewhere between 4–40 percent more likely to catch COVID-19.

* Mask studies *
Before the Covid outbreak, masks had been looked at in a number of controlled trials well reviewed by the Center for Evidence Based Medicine and by Dennis Rancourt PhD. Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) itself published a controlled study of the transmission of Influenza and masking in May 2020, demonstrating no benefit of masks in controlling the spread of influenza--a similar disease in size of virus and transmission characteristics. No controlled study showed that masks decreased transmission of small size virus infection.

Due to the ultimate lack of exclusion of the harmfulness of mask wearing, mask use by the general public should be discouraged. We conclude that a mask requirement must be reconsidered in a strictly scientific way without any political interference as well as from a humanitarian and ethical point of view. There is an urgent need to balance adverse mask effects with their anticipated efficacy against viral transmission. In the absence of strong empirical evidence of mask effectiveness, mask wearing should not be mandated let alone enforced by law.

* False safety & real dangers *
There is no biological history of mass masking until the current era. It is important to consider possible outcomes of this society-wide experiment. The consequences to the health of individuals is as yet unknown. If widespread masking continues, then the potential for inhaling mask fibers and environmental and biological debris continues on a daily basis for hundreds of millions of people. This should be alarming for physicians and epidemiologists knowledgeable in occupational hazards.

Masks have been shown consistently over time and throughout the world to have no significant preventative impact against any known pathogenic microbes. Specifically, regarding COVID-19, we have shown in this paper that mask use is not correlated with lower death rates nor with lower positive PCR tests. Masks have also been demonstrated historically to contribute to increased infections within the respiratory tract. We have examined the common occurrence of oral and nasal pathogens accessing deeper tissues and blood, and potential consequences of such events. We have demonstrated from the clinical and historical data cited herein, we conclude the use of face masks will contribute to far more morbidity and mortality than has occurred due to COVID-19.

The evidence presented here, in summary of clinical data from around the world, show that masks can accelerate morbidity and mortality in those who are already ill, and that masks can sicken healthy people. Before masks are forced onto school children and workers, why are animal studies not being done with all-day masking, to investigate safety issues? How much of an increase in mask-related illnesses will we have to observe before mask “mandates” end?

Population studies show that the use of masks either resulted in an increased incidence of COVID-19 or had no impact. None of the examined jurisdictions experienced decreased incidence of COVID-19 after the introduction of mask mandates ... There are also chemical mechanisms for increased COVID-19 cases in masked populations. This is likely due to immune suppression caused by hypoxic and hypercapnic conditions, as well as acidotic, immobilized cilia in the lungs, and reduced skin surface available to sunlight for Vitamin D production. Caution is therefore urged against use of masks among those who wish to reduce the risk, either for themselves or others, of infection with SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19 disease.

* It’s worse than we thought *
A new study published by Cambridge University Press suggests that wearing a mask may be associated with an increased risk of Covid infection.

From the study: "The crude estimates show a higher incidence of testing positive for COVID-19 in the groups that used face masks more frequently. … The risk was 1.74 (1.38 to 2.18) times higher in those who wore face masks often or sometimes, compared to participants who reported never or almost never wore masks. In other words, individuals who always or almost always wear face masks have a 75% higher risk of testing positive for COVID-19 than those who never or almost never wear masks. It's important to note that these are crude estimates, and other factors may influence the observed differences in risk. But still, this is damning data for any advocate of mask mandates, particularly following the recent German study on the dangers of rebreathing carbon dioxide."

During the early months of the pandemic, I wrote often on the ineffectiveness of wearing masks and the even more troubling social conditioning taking place that threatened our individual freedoms. I wrote this in 2020: “The scientific usefulness of a mask has been so aggressively overstated, and the foundational importance of the Constitution has been so aggressively understated, that we have normalized people screaming obscenities at each other while hiking. Not wearing a mask is not mere ‘personal choice’ - like deciding between a head covering or a t-shirt. It is a flashpoint for being a free human being who has consented to be governed but has not consented to be ruled. We do not consent to a masked America, because that is a fundamental change in American society, culture, norms, and rights.”

The above is an example of freedom-based leadership in opposition to a government hell-bent on a power grab. The government presented manipulated data to create widespread fear - which encouraged citizens to voluntarily give up their freedoms. We need leaders whose starting point is supporting the Constitution - and who then use dispassionate reasoning to arrive at sane policies.

* Masks and the CDC *
One of the most influential federal health journals in the United States has published unsupported claims about the benefits of masks in preventing transmission of COVID-19, according to authors of a manuscript recently accepted for publication in The American Journal of Medicine. Researchers discovered questionable qualities in most of the studies—qualities that could easily misrepresent results and confuse readers such as health care professionals, researchers, and the public. These qualities included poor study design, scarcity of statistical significance, dubious methods for assessing mask effectiveness, failure to cite conflicting data, and lack of randomization. The findings raise concern about the scientific journal's reliability for informing health policy—a journal that does not require external peer review before publication, according to the authors.
